Master your podcast ad attribution strategy and learn about the best Chartable alternatives for tracking downloads, demographics, and conversions in 2026.

In the early days of podcasting, measuring podcast attribution was difficult and inaccurate. Even with promo codes or vanity URLs, advertisers struggled to find reliable metrics for podcast ad performance because inflated numbers made the system easy to game. Chartable launched in 2018, creating an accurate way to track the impact and conversion rate of paid ads, earned cross-promotion campaigns, and more across Apple Podcasts and Spotify (along with a host of other features). In hindsight, it’s safe to assume that Chartable helped podcasting reach the levels of legitimacy and respect to advertisers that it has today.

Spotify acquired Chartable in 2022, but as of December 2025, the service sunsetted, leaving a void in the podcast industry for indie creators and mid- to large-market networks alike in terms of having a singular dashboard to measure campaign effectiveness, download tracking, podcast ranking, and a number of other data insights. Now in 2026, the reporting ecosystem has splintered and fragmented, but The Podglomerate is here with a helpful guide as to what you should know and which Chartable alternatives you should use to optimize your podcast attribution strategy.

What features should I consider when choosing Chartable alternatives?

In this post-Chartable landscape, several other tools have launched that cover the features Chartable once offered. That said, before choosing one or two new tools, you should audit the data you need to support your podcast’s growth. For example, maybe you’re looking for audience demographic and listener data to level up your podcast monetization strategy. You can find specific alternatives that focus on those features without gathering other data that wouldn’t be useful.

As of this article, there’s no single 1:1 replacement for Chartable. So you’ll need to build a stack of Chartable alternatives that cover its features. There are six features we have identified that you should consider when assessing other tools on the market:

  1. SmartPromo (podcast-to-podcast or podcast-to-web attribution)
  2. SmartLinks (download attribution for cross-promotion)
  3. Chart Rankings (rankings on Apple Podcasts and Spotify)
  4. Consumption (podcast listening metrics)
  5. Demographics (listener data like age and gender)
  6. Download Tracking (engagement on campaigns)

Now let’s look at some of the alternatives that are currently available for these former Chartable features.

What Chartable alternatives are there for Chartable’s SmartPromo feature?

Before we go into these tools, here’s a primer on how podcast-to-podcast attribution and podcast-to-web attribution work.

Most podcast-to-podcast attribution functions by adding an RSS prefix to the RSS feeds of one or more shows, and using a software tool to generate a pixel that will run in a DAI ad campaign on another podcast, promoting the former. The software solution will track which IP addresses have heard this ad unit, and which IP addresses have downloaded an audio file from the original show’s RSS feed, and will tell you where there’s overlap. These are conversion events.

You can also track the impact of a baked-in ad, such as a host appearing on another podcast, a collaborative episode between two shows, a feed drop on another show, or a simple embedded ad unit. You track these Baked-In events by mapping the RSS prefix from one show to another, as opposed to using a pixel via DAI ad insertion.

Similar to podcast-to-podcast attribution, most podcast-to-web attribution functions by using a software tool to generate a pixel that will run in a DAI ad campaign on another podcast, promoting a web page, and a second pixel on the desired landing page. The tool then tracks which IP addresses have heard this ad unit, and which IP addresses have hit this landing page, and will tell you where there’s overlap. These are also conversion events.

For podcast-to-podcast attribution, here are some tools that can manage this prefix and pixel tracking:

  • Megaphone: Megaphone is Spotify’s podcast hosting and monetization platform that’s built for high-volume shows, podcast networks, and large publishers. Their Promotion Measurement feature (look for “Promotions” in the Megaphone interface) provides podcast attribution using a pixel-based attribution system.
  • Magellan.ai: Magellan AI is a prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers integrations for ad sales, tracking, and reporting, and solutions for podcast to podcast and podcast to web attribution. The service also has a robust set of sales research tools that will be a goldmine for any publisher’s advertising team. Pricing varies.
  • Podscribe: Podscribe is a prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers integrations for ad sales, tracking, and reporting, and solutions for podcast to podcast and podcast to web attribution. The service also has a robust set of sales research tools that will be a goldmine for any publisher’s advertising team, as well as their marketing teams, who can use this tool to research conversion rates on other podcasts. Pricing varies.
  • Podtrac: Podscribe is a prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers solutions for podcast charts as well as podcast to podcast attribution. Pricing varies.
  • Swap.fm: Swap.fm is a brand new prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers podcast-to-podcast attribution, and has a clever tool that allows you to see retention of a listener based on the specific cross promo campaign run. This platform is much more focused on podcast tune-in campaigns than the rest, though is also the newest company working in the space.

For podcast-to-web attribution, here are some Chartable alternatives that can manage this pixel tracking:

  • Magellan.ai: Magellan AI is a prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers integrations for ad sales, tracking, and reporting, and solutions for podcast-to-podcast and podcast-to-web attribution. The service also has a robust set of sales research tools that will be a goldmine for any publisher’s advertising team. Pricing varies.
  • Podscribe: Podscribe is a prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers integrations for ad sales, tracking, and reporting, and solutions for podcast-to-podcast and podcast-to-web attribution. The service also has a robust set of sales research tools that will be a goldmine for any publisher’s advertising team, as well as their marketing teams, who can use this tool to research conversion rates on other podcasts. Pricing varies.
  • Spotify Ad Analytics (formerly known as Podsights): Spotify Ad Analytics, or SPAA, is a prefix and pixel-based attribution service that offers integrations for ad sales, tracking, and reporting, and solutions for podcast-to-podcast and podcast-to-web attribution. Pricing is set up on a CPM basis, meaning you’ll pay based on the scale of the campaigns you’re running.

What Chartable alternatives are there for Chartable’s SmartLinks feature?

Chartable’s SmartLinks had two major functions:

  • Tracking download attribution by link and source ID. By generating a link to a podcast or an episode, you could see how many clicks vs. downloads occurred within a window of time. Users could also use a Source ID (SID) tag, similar to a UTM tag, in order to determine where these clicks and downloads were coming from (i.e. Facebook vs. LinkedIn).
  • Provide a platform-agnostic experience for social sharing. When generating a SmartLink, you were able to set up conditional redirects, such as sending MacOS or iOS users to Apple Podcasts, Android users to Spotify, etc. This was extremely helpful when sharing a link on social media. Before these conditional redirects, many podcasters were sharing links to their own landing pages, or sharing multiple links to their show on various platforms.

Based on this functionality, here are a few Chartable alternatives that can replicate these tracking and redirect features:

  • Linkfire: Linkfire offers a beautiful landing page solution to share on any platform, and includes a lot of useful features, such as integrating email newsletter signups and social media links. It will also automatically connect with your show’s Apple Podcasts Connect data. However, it will not track any other listening data outside of the Apple ecosystem. You can integrate other links such as Spotify’s Trackable Sharing Links, but it’s a somewhat manual process, and still precludes all non-Apple and non-Spotify users.
  • Podcards allows podcasters to create a sharable platform link, and you can track download data by adding a prefix and integrating your various dashboard logins. However, the platform does not allow for conditional redirects nor episode specific linking.
  • Podlink solves the platform-agnostic question by providing easy to use landing pages, but users cannot track download or click data.
  • Megaphone has a feature called Link Tracking that tracks clicks on any specific URLs that you include in a campaign or promotion. However, this feature doesn’t provide a per-platform breakdown of sources.
  • Magellan AI ListenLinks recently launched, and it uses a prefix solution to allow for the creation of a landing page that will track clicks vs downloads. It allows for Source ID tags, but it currently doesn’t allow for episode-level linking, nor conditional redirects.
  • Podtrac SmartLinks uses a prefix solution to create a landing page that will track clicks vs. downloads. It allows for source ID tags, but currently doesn’t provide episode-level linking nor conditional redirects.
  • Swap.fm SmartLinks allows for a prefix solution to create a landing page that will track clicks vs. downloads. It allows for source ID tags and conditional redirects, but it currently doesn’t provide episode-level linking.

What Chartable alternatives are there for Chartable’s Chart Rankings feature?

Chartable once included a live listing of all category and country specific chart rankings from Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, and their own bespoke charts. All of these updated in real time and allowed both free and paid users to view historical chart rankings.

Here are some Chartable alternatives which offer a similar level of visibility into chart rankings:

  • Rephonic lets you view any public data regarding your show, including chart rankings from Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. You can view these rankings in real-time, but there’s no option for a historical listing.
  • Podgagement also has a real-time and historical chart feature that offers the same chart ranking and historical listing features Chartable did.
  • Podstatus offers historical ranking data, in addition to reviews, keyword tracking, Spotify rankings, an SEO analyzer, sponsor-ready documents, and many other features.
  • Podchaser Pro offers the last 90 days of chart ranking data and is exploring historical ranking access.
  • MowPod has a feature called mowPod Charts that provides insights into any podcast’s Apple Podcasts or Spotify rankings for absolutely free. You can also browse the charts by category and country, which is very useful to see how a podcast ranks globally.
  • Ausha is one of our favorite AI tools, and their free charts feature provides real-time and historical chart positions by country, category, and subcategory. It’s also available to everyone, even if they’re not hosted on Ausha.

One thing to note is that all of this chart data is being pulled from Apple Podcasts and Spotify directly, so users can always review these platforms as well (if you need to compare).

What Chartable alternatives are there for Chartable’s Consumption feature?

At one point, Chartable connected directly with Apple Podcasts Connect and Spotify for Podcasters to provide an at-a-glance picture of how listeners consumed an episode of any given podcast, including when and how frequently listeners were dropping off an episode. This gave podcasters a great idea of where they may want to implement editorial changes in their productions to assist them with listener retention.

Soon after Spotify purchased Chartable, they removed the integration with Apple Podcasts Connect.

That said, this same consumption data is still available to podcasters directly from their Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard, their Spotify for Creators dashboard, and their YouTube Studios dashboard

What Chartable alternatives are there for Chartable’s Demographics feature?

Chartable pulled in demographic data from Spotify for Creators, including gender, age, location, and household income data. All of this information is available directly fromSpotify for Creators.

CoHost, Podchaser Pro, and Podscribe can also receive enriched data for deeper insights.

What alternative tools are there for Chartable’s Download Tracking feature?

Chartable’s download tracking feature was enabled by a prefix implementation, which is a short, trackable URL that’s placed in a podcast’s RSS feed and routes every download through a third-party tracker before delivering the audio file for the podcast. While there are many Chartable alternatives out there that work in a similar fashion, we recommend that you track downloads directly from your hosting platform as a point of truth.

Conclusion

With Chartable sunsetting, podcasters now have to put together their own collection of tools to gather data for podcast attribution. This could be a logistical nightmare, but the reality is that success in 2026 means adopting new strategies in order to have the information you need to maintain a competitive edge and grow your podcast.
