It’s finally here: a new year with new possibilities!

Let’s be real: 2024 was a tough year for podcasting by anyone’s measure, between the aftermath of iOS17 to the sunsetting of industry darlings and massive layoffs from seemingly every company in podcasting.

And yet… we’re still seeing a vibrant community that’s seeing more growth than most other media. There are still blockbuster deals being announced basically every other month, sound-rich stories being produced every day, and new kinds of business models popping up left-and-right.

And throughout it all, The Podglomerate grew as a company and supported the work of countless podcasts through our production, marketing, and monetization services.

Thank you to all of our friends, colleagues, partners, and listeners for helping us get here. It’s been a long, crazy experience so far, and we’re just getting started.

What better way to look toward the future than to look back and reflect on 2024 and its “New and Noteworthy” moments:

  • We represented more than 90 podcasts in 2024, accounting for 100s of millions of downloads (I know, wild), with our shows topping the podcast charts and receiving features on every major podcast distribution app with national coverage across print, digital, radio, and television. You can listen to those shows here
  • We earned 100s of thousands of dollars for our more than 50 ad sales partners, including sales from more than 60 brands and 20 agencies, accounting for more than 25,000,000 ad impressions. You can browse those sponsors here
  • We produced 145 new audio episodes and 98 video episodes for 8 unique productions, with our award-winning production team booking expert interview guests including Fareed Zakaria, Sam Bee, Ben Smith, Jodi Picoult, and Senator John Hickenlooper, to name a few. You can listen to those shows here
  • In addition to updating our website (it’s shiny!), we also launched our new blog, which features a variety of podcast insights and helpful guides ranging from how to win a podcast award to best practices for setting up a video podcast. In fact, you may have seen these blog posts featured in such publications as Podnews, Sounds Profitable, The Podcast Review, and The Podcast Academy.
  • We celebrated the first anniversary for our Signal Award-winning Podcast Perspectives, which has helped break down the most important podcast headlines while going deep into topics that podcasters need to know today. Since launching in August 2023, we’ve brought on nearly 50 industry experts as guests, with our 2024 interviews including such folks as Pushkin’s Gretta Cohn, Maximum Fun’s Bikram Chatterji, and Tenderfoot TV’s Donald Albright. (Fun Fact: one of our most listened-to episodes in 2024 was our October discussion with Hyperfixed host/Reply All alum Alex Goldman, which followed 2023’s most listened-to episode also featuring Alex).
  • We were proud to work with some of 2024’s critically-acclaimed podcasts, including New Hampshire Public Radio’s Youth Development Center (which was named an “Editor’s Pick” by Spotify and featured in Vulture’s “1.5x Speed”), The Lever’s Master Plan (called a must-listen by Rachel Maddow, it hit #20 across All Podcasts on Apple Podcasts), Harvard Business School’s Managing the Future of Work (praised as a best podcast pick by The Guardian), and Connecticut Public’s Generation Barney (featured nationally on NPR’s Weekend All Things Considered), among others.
  • We celebrated our clients receiving more than 20 nominations at the third annual Signal Awards, including our clients No Small Endeavor, Master Plan, New Hampshire Public Radio, Creative Pep Talk, and What the Hack bringing home trophies, in addition to The Podglomerate’s very own Missing Pages and Podcast Perspectives winning in their respective categories.
  • We were interviewed/featured in Bloomberg, Harvard’s Nieman Journalism Lab, The Modern CTO, Pocket Casts, and more for our insights on podcast audience growth, production, and monetization. What’s more, we were invited to speak at SXSW, Podcast Movement, and the Podcasting for Business Summit, as well as lead a webinar with The Webby Awards.
  • We had the honor of representing stellar clients including Netflix, PBS, Harvard Business School, Stanford GSB, NPR stations (including New Hampshire Public Radio, Connecticut Public, WWNO, and WUNC), The Lever, Bad Magic Productions, The San Francisco Standard, Evoke Media, APT Podcast Studios, AFAR, Tokens Media, WNET, The Progress Network, AFSCME, More Equitable Democracy, Totally Booked by Zibby (formerly known as Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books), The Five Books, All Ears English, Creative Pep Talk, The History of Literature, and many more.
  • We continued to grow our team, in addition to celebrating promotions and work anniversaries for our long-standing staff, with no signs of slowing down!

And that’s all thanks to our amazing team, our clients, our collaborators and partners, our listeners, and you.

Thank you for your continued support — over the past 8 years, and for the many years to come. And here’s to even more stories and sonic moments in 2025.

P.S. if your “New Year’s Resolution” is to produce, grow, monetize (or something in between) your podcast and need help to amplify your work, schedule a free consultation with us on our website: https://podglomerate.com/connect/

Best,
